Sawston Pathways : Outing to Phantom of the Opera.
We started off on a beautiful sunny day. The coach had a wonderful lift system for Wheelchairs which made it so easy and comfortable for our wheelchair users. It also enabled one gentleman who found steps very difficult to go up on the lift with ease.
The sun shone all the way on our journey and we arrived in plenty of time to have a cup of coffee in a roadside Café before going in to the show. What a show it was!! The fantastic scenery and costumes which you can only see in a West End Show were terrific. The singing was wonderful and the whole show gripped from beginning to end. Such exciting music had been composed for this unusual story. At the end the audience gave a standing ovation to the cast, which was well deserved.
We came out of the Theatre and there was the coach waiting for us. It made for a wonderful and unusual day out.
We would like to thank the Grassroots charity for enabling us to go on this outing. Without their help it would not have been possible. All the members of the group were so appreciative, as this was not something we are normally able to do.
