1) Those present – Dave Percival, Anne & George Dunn, Frances Mitton, Shirley and Stan Matthews, Bill Bolch, Mary Gilmore, Frances Brownlie, Jenni Sinclair, Betty Norfolk, Joy & Arthur Dockerill

 

Bill passed on his appreciation for the trip to Phantom of the Opera on behalf of his daughter and himself.

 

2) Apologies from  Angela McMullen, Lillian & Joe

 

3) Dave had received a letter from Dogs for the Disabled thanking the group for the £82.80 donated.

 

4) COMMITTEE -Dave resigned as chairman and pointed out that if the group was to continue all posts had to filled as quoted in the constitution. Betty Norfolk resigned Jenni asked why it was important now if these posts had not been filled up to now.

Frances Mitton nominated Frances Brownlie as Chair, Jenni Seconded and Frances was elected. Jenni Sinclair was elected to vice chair.

Anne Dunn continues as treasurer

Frances Mitton continues as secretary

Gill Cooper continues as a committee member

Mary Gilmore and Joy Dockerill were both voted in as committee.

Dave thanked everyone Especially Shirley and Stan and Anne. Betty returned the contact details for booking lunches. Joy offered to organise meal outings.

 

5) MEMBERSHIP -Frances Brownlie suggested that a list of members should be drawn up. Dave suggested membership should be by payment of a fee. It was decided that £5 annually should be paid by all who wish to be members and new membership forms completed.

 

6) FUND RAISING -The group will no longer take money for the tea and coffee but the monthly raffle will continue – Anne said this raised a significant amount over the year.

Dave informed the group about a table top sale that raised £182 in two hours and also a silent auction that raised £700 for Cottenham Community Centre.

Anne will have a book stall outside her house on Saturdays (weather permitting) to sell books at 50p to help funds. Frances  Mitton will help with running it when Anne is not available. Frances Brownlie offered to make a poster. Dave suggested that CD’s might also sell.  Anyone wishing to contribute books or CD’s please give to Anne.

 

7) SOCIAL – Anne suggested Anglesey Abbey for our first lunch -24th Sept; then Scotsdales in October.

 

Frances Mitton thanked Dave for his work as chair.
